Become a volunteer

Volunteering makes you happy...

Museumsbanen's enthusiastic volunteers work hard to give our passengers a good experience.

                                                                                                                           Diligent hands wanted!

The staff of the Museum Railway are all volunteers and unpaid. The staff is a collection of people with widely different backgrounds, but common to all of them is a passion for the railway operations of yesteryear. The gender distribution is certainly not equal, as the majority of the staff are men, and the age distribution is also not equal, as a large part of the force has many years of experience in the unique environment of the depot in Maribo.

It is worth mentioning here that the work on the Museum Railway is not solely about driving locomotives or cutting tickets.

There is also ample space on the team for people who want to serve coffee and cake to happy guests or pour hot drinks to expectant passengers on a cold December day in Bandholm.

There is also a need for enthusiastic people who can see the necessity of cleaning the old carriages, and windows that are plastered so that you can enjoy the beautiful Lolland landscape.

There is also a need for people who want to look after the station in Bandholm, with all that entails in terms of sales talent and a desire to have a chat with travelers.

You are also more than welcome if you are not afraid of getting black fingers, and possibly most of your body, when repairing locomotives and wagons.

Some of the work functions mentioned require training, which Museumsbanen will of course ensure you receive, so that you are equipped to perform the job safely, for both the public and staff.
