The museum railway brings history to life, at a pace where the soul can keep up...

Welcome to the Maribo-Bandholm Museum Railway

We are working to recreate a time when people sat on wooden benches on the train, where the stationmaster was one of the leaders of society and the train driver was the idol of many children.

With us you not only get a journey through the beautiful Lolland landscape, but also a nostalgic journey back to the time around 1920.

Generations can come together in a shared experience of what it was like to travel in the old days.

The museum railway is run by a group of volunteer enthusiasts for whom maintaining the operation of the vintage railway on the stretch between Maribo and Bandholm is a passion.

A warm welcome to us.

The first motor train of the season...

The first motor train of the season departs on 6/5-2026.

The locomotive in the picture is just one of the Museum Railway's operational diesel locomotives, so it will be exciting to see what traction the locomotive crew chooses on the day.

Here you can see the timetable and buy tickets:

Steam locomotive mood....

Here you can see some live steam locomotives at the depot in Maribo.

Both locomotives have recently received approval from the authorities for 2026.

Things are going quite well for the two locomotives, built in 1879 and 1903 respectively.
