When do trains run on the Museum Line?

 

In 2026, the Museum Railway season will start with an Easter train in April and end with the Christmas trains in December.

Running days for the summer season can be seen in “Run schedule” on the front page, and tickets can be purchased in the ”Ticket sales” item in the menu on the front page of the website.

The calendar also states whether the train is run by steam or diesel locomotive.

 

A trip from Maribo to Bandholm and return costs 120 kr for an adult and 60 kr for a child from 4-11 years old.

Children aged 0-3 travel free. Two adults and 2-4 children can buy a family ticket for 310 kr.

Single tickets cost 60 kr for adults and 30 kr for children (4-11 years old).

If you want to be sure of getting on the train, Museumsbanen recommends that regular return tickets from Maribo to Bandholm be purchased on the website  www.museumsbanen.dk

On the website it is possible to pay with Visa/Dankort, Visa card and Master card.

Other tickets (single tickets and tickets for departures from Bandholm) can be purchased at Bandholm Station or on the train. At the station, you can pay with cash, Mobilepay, Visa and MasterCard.

On the train you can pay with cash.

Yes, there is a 10 % discount for groups of over 10 adults and a 25 % discount for groups of over 25 adults.

If you are arranging an excursion for a larger group – more than 25 people – you can reserve seats on the trains shown in the calendar. This will allow the group to sit together.

Reservations can be made by writing to the Museumsbanen traffic department at trafik@museumsbanen.dk.

Groups of more than 25 adults must book a place at least 3 days in advance.

Supplements for 1st class are purchased on the train and cost 20 kr.

There are good parking options both at the station in Maribo and in Bandholm.

 

A trip takes approximately 2 hours and includes a stop at Bandholm Station, where you can buy a refreshment and enjoy the authentic station environment from the 1920s.

Furry friends are welcome as long as they do not cause a nuisance to other travelers. However, not in carriages with catering.

Strollers are allowed in the train's luggage compartment free of charge. However, the child must be removed from the stroller during the journey.
Light bicycles can be taken if there is space in the luggage compartment. It costs 30 DKK and payment is made on the train. 

Disabled people can be taken on board, provided that their own helpers can lift the disabled person and their aids onto and off the train. However, please note that the doors in the historic carriages are narrow and cannot be passed by a wheelchair.  

On most departures there is a toilet available on the train.

There are two toilets at Bandholm station, one of which is a disabled toilet.

There is a baby changing area in the disabled toilet.

From Marielyst it is 38 km to Maribo, which is 42 km from Gedesby, 25 km from Kramnitze and from Rødbyhavn it is 19 km.

No, tickets can be purchased at Vin Huset in Maribo and on Ticketmaster from December 1st.

You can buy coffee, ice cream and a selection of souvenirs.

At the station in Bandholm, the last stationmaster's living room has been set up as a permanent exhibition. with the original furniture, donated to the Museum Railway by the stationmaster's descendants.

In addition, various exhibitions are occasionally arranged at the station, in the warehouse and in the trolley shed.

No, companion tickets are not valid on the Museumsbanen. A regular ticket must be purchased.

Yes, that's right. Children under 4 years old travel free on regular trains.

In connection with special events, other things may occur.

No, you can't.

When an event is marked in red and the text sold out in Nem Mylsted, ticket sales are over. Even if the deadline for registration has not passed. 

If you experience that the tickets you purchased on the website have not been sent to you, please contact us.

This could be due to something as simple as a typo in an email address.
